GAIAs Chronos
For freelancers and employees

Your working time belongs to you.

Chronos clocks, assigns and adds up — on your device. There is no account, no server and no transmission. Whoever should see your hours gets them from you, not from us.

What it does

Clock

In, break, resume, out — one large button and a running clock. The day is a gapless sequence: no overlaps, nothing to recalculate.

Assign

Client, project, activity, note. Activities grow as you use them, and a stretch can be split when you switch projects mid-way.

Review

Day, week, month. Totals per client, project and activity — and, where an hourly rate is set, the amount alongside.

Hand it on

CSV that German Excel opens straight away, an Excel workbook, and a timesheet ready to sign. Plus a complete backup file.

Warn, never block

Chronos points out break requirements, maximum hours and rest periods — and still never refuses an entry. Every warning can be switched off on its own.

Nothing leaves

No sign-in, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising identifier. The app talks to no server at all — not even ours.

What it costs

1 month free · then €2/month or €14.99/year

Always the full version. There is no crippled free edition you have to buy your way out of, piece by piece.

  • One month entirely free, no payment details.
  • After that €2 per month or €14.99 per year — the same app.
  • When the trial ends, viewing and all exports stay open for good. We do not lock your records away.
  • On iPhone and Android payment runs through the respective store; you cancel there.
  • While the checkout is not open yet, the app keeps running without limits.

Using it at work

What an employer needs to know

Chronos is an app for ONE person on ONE device. There is no central view for the employer and no admin interface — employees clock for themselves and submit the monthly record.

Because no data ever reaches GAIAs, GAIAs is not a processor of employee data. No data processing agreement is needed. The two-year retention duty under § 16 (2) ArbZG (Germany) is met by the employer with the submitted records.

Introducing the app at a company may require the works council's agreement: a technical device capable of monitoring conduct or performance is subject to co-determination under § 87 (1) no. 6 BetrVG (Germany). That concerns the employer rather than us — but it is better known beforehand.

The app's warnings quote figures from the German Working Time Act. They are a hint, not legal advice, and they never stop anyone.

On which device?

The same app, four ways. The data stays wherever you recorded it.
